Has anyone been to a HWT workshop?

You know ---personally I wouldn't spend that much money. If you know how to make an A you can teach a kid how to make an A. ;) The teacher guides and workbooks are pretty self explanatory. I had the 2nd grade printing and 3rd grade cursive and Advanced Cursive TMs and they were nearly identical and didn't have too many extra tips. I just gave them away recently. They were basically pointless.

I do have the TM for K and it has some fun pre-writing ideas that would be good to try with the toddler/preschooler who isn't using pencil yet. The wood letters are good for the younger crowd too. Others may think differently but I find that the workbooks are essentially enough. Mats and special chalkboard slates etc---improvise your own or do without. So much of the extras are just fluff that public schools seem unable to go without.

I went to one several years ago because my dd had major issues with hand writing, and was coming out of private K to hs. I thought it would be helpful, but really for the price it was a big waste of $. It was truly geared for classroom teachers. Spend much less on one teacher book and read through it (I agree, they are all pretty similar; I did get all of them and all the workbooks as part of the training) and MAYBE some of the extras, and you'll get as much, imo.
