wapiti
Free Curriculum list a classical education for free/cheap? Favorite free curriculum/educational aid? As for the math, if she doesn't like MEP, Math Mammoth is Asian-style, mastery math like Singapore, and is a great value. And, I think the 50% off sale for Math Mammoth at HSBC goes through Sept. 11. cmac
I was going through the free curriculum postings and planned on using this myself for reading/literature http://www.readworks.org/. It looked really good. And of all the free grammar, I liked the McGraw Hill Grammar http://www.mhschool.com/reading/treasure_workbooks/national/g3/grammar_pb.pdf, but I just saw there are different McGraw Hill Grammar/Language Arts sites. Don't know if the other ones are better. I just found this for math and really liked how it looked. Not sure if it's a supplement or is complete. It looks complete to me. http://www.eduplace.com/math/mw/g_3.html. And here's another math I thought looked good also. http://mathlearnnc.sharpschool.com/cms/One.aspx?portalId=4507283&pageId=4993281. It looks like it has more mental math. Edited September 8, 2012 by cmac

Susie in MS
Does she have an e-reader or a laser printer? With either of those she can school on the VERY cheap. Using googlebooks or manybooks.net she can down load a lot of really good books. Great, free curriculum schedules using mostly free public domain books can be found at amblesideonline and oldfashionededucation . Primary Language Lessons and Intermediate Language Lessons can be down loaded for free as can Grammar Land. VERY inexpensive math is Practical Arithmetic by Strayor Upton. Each book (3 in the series) last 2 years and includes answers. Self teaching so no TM. (Book 1 = grades 3 and 4, Book 2 = grades 5 and 6, and Book 3= grades 7 and 8) Edited September 8, 2012 by Susie in MS
frugalmama
She can always put in a request to The Book Samaritan for materials - they exist just to help out needy home educators world-wide.
