MrsBanjoClown
My boys are both in Sparks. How many verses do your kids that age memorize each week?
kwickimom
Last year my spark averaged 3 verses a week
PRTGSw2K
Ditto pp. It varies, though. Some kids did one per week, some kids didn't finish the book.
didadeewiththree
At two a week, my kids would always finish their books early that year. A good combo for my youngest, who is in his second year of Sparks, is to shoot for one and if he gets another, thats great. My daughter could always do two a week easily, unless we plum forgot to practice a few times.
Cinder
I think dd also did about 3 per week. She ended up finishing the handbook and the Frequent Flyer, though, so I know some weeks she did 4 or 5. If you're just trying to complete the handbook in the year you won't need to do that many. vonfirmath
My boys are both in Sparks. How many verses do your kids that age memorize each week? Thank you for asking the question! I've been wondering the same thing for my K'er. Note that as the children get older/progress through the books, they do need to learn more verses to sign off on a section. So one section may have 2 or 3 verses instead of just 1. So AWANAs expects the kids to learn more as they progress T&T books have sections that are multiple pages long! AnnaM
We did about 3 per week. Mine were highly motivated to get through the books and the review book though. You can do 2 per week and get through the main book with time to spare. Some weeks there are a lot of sign offs that aren't verse memorization at all (Like the missionary section). mom2samlibby
T&T books have sections that are multiple pages long! This isn't correct. My DD just got her 3 year T&T book. They are all a two page spread for a section.
BigMamaBird
To complete the book in a year you have to finish two sections a week. Some weeks that's easier to do than others.
