is it my bed, my pillow or just my old aching body?

every morning I wake up with a sore shoulder and upper back. I am a side sleeper. We have a pillow top materess and I have a couple year old (probably 3-4) memeory foam pillow...a pretty decent one, but it's getting older. So is it my bed, my pillow or just my body that is getting old (I am almost 47)? Can anybody give me some insight?
