skeeterbug
As in hiring a teen or uni student to do it for me. I'd hand over a (very large) stack of printed items to be laminated. I'd supply the laminator and laminating sheets. I'd pay them to laminate and cut everything apart for me and sort them into ziploc bags. There are so many printables I'd love to have sitting on my shelf ready to go when I need them, but there is no way I'll be able to keep up. My 2.5yo loves LOTW-type printables, but I can't spend all my time preparing these for very little use. All my kids love Montessori 3-pt cards, and I have a collection I'd love to print out for when we cover the various topics. But I just can't spend all my time laminating, and if I don't they get ruined too easily. I just want them all to appear on my shelf ready to go.:tongue_smilie: How much would you pay? Or how much would you ask for to do this for someone?
KristenR
I wish I lived near you because I have a sickening addiction to laminating things. I.LOVE.IT. I don't know what it is about sealing things securly in plastic but it sure does make my heart happy. I'm a self-confessed laminataholic and proud of it!! That being said I think it is the perfect sort of job to hire a mother's-helper for. I would try to pay a friend's teen. I'd pay them by the hour. I know teens would happily do anything for an hour or two for 10 or 20 bucks. They can sit there with head phones on and knock them out for you in a flash. Or then again, you can go to Staples or Kinkos and pay to have them laminate and cut them for you. I've had stuff laminated from them before and the last time they told me they would charge me a minimal amount to count them all out. I needed them right away and they told me they wouldn't be available until the following morning so I ended up taking them home and doing it myself anyway. But maybe you can price them too. skeeterbug
I checked into having the laminating done for me and at our national chain store it's about $1.50 per sheet. No thanks! Anyone done this? I would be laminating every night for months! Plus, with my laminator I have to send everything through at least twice, so it really takes forever. Maybe I should get another machine and have two going at once!
Aoife
I just laminated about 200 sheets tonight and am halfway through cutting it out  I still have a stack of printed stuff to be laminated but I need to make a trip to sams club tomorrow for more laminating sheets and more cardstock to print more out so yeah I feel your pain :tongue_smilie:
