AimeeM
Anyone have experience with this with younger students? One of our parish priests is offering a free (we only buy the textbook) Latin class for homeschoolers in grade 5 and up. Our daughter is 11 and in the 6th grade. The text used is Cambridge Course 1; just wondering if anyone has experience with this. I know I've heard of it, but I haven't seen it. mumto2
We are using Cambridge as a supplement for ds12. It is intuitive. They read a story in latin and translate it using the vocabulary given. The grammar comes more from observation then direct exercises. Cultural studies are included. There is a Cambridge Latin website. Just google. Most of book 1 is there. We bought our copies used-- inexpensively. The student workbooks and teachers guides are nice. I have looked at a friends. Dd14 loves latin. She is doing Henle and leading her brother through Cambridge without problems. I would give it a try especially if you just need the textbook.
