Amethyst
I bought Rosetta Stone 6 or 7 years ago and used it for my oldest and then last year used it for my dd for Spanish I. Well, we bought a new computer (partly because things like Rosetta Stone were no longer working on it). I find out today (day before school starts!) that the new computer does not support the old version of Rosetta STone that I own. Sure, I can buy the upgrade at the "low price" of $98, but I'm not sure I want to do that. So, now I have to figure out what to do for Spanish II for my dd this year. Has anyone successfully transitioned away from Rosetta Stone and then done something else for the second year of foreign language? I'd like to not spend and arm and a leg on it, though. Pam L in Mid Tenn
I think upgrading at $98 is a bargain. :) I would update what you already own.:D
Sharilynn29
I agree that updating still sounds like a good deal. If it's working for him, I'd stick with it. Any other decent program will cost at least $100.
StephanieZ
Have you tried to run it in compatability mode (or whatever that is called, lol)? When we got new computers a year or two ago, that compatability mode worked for our ancient RS and various other old programs.

But I'm not sure what you mean, perhaps, and quite likely, because I don't know much about computers. Is "compatabilitiy mode" something on the Rosetta Stone CD? Or is it something on my new computer?
Beth S
I'm no computer expert, but I think you could (for example) load the 97 Windows version onto your nice new computer . . . and then the old software should load on it.
