Jean in Newcastle
My husband was away at a meeting all day. He should be home around 6 or later. My children were away hiking all day. They stopped to shop the outlet malls and don't know when they'll be home but I'm suspecting between 6 and 7. My dh cannot have corn or dairy. I don't think a normal sit down dinner is going to cut it tonight but everyone will be hungry. My dh wasn't against going out but I don't know if they'll be home around the same time. My mind is fried from figuring out Geometry schedules all day. Help!
Swimtaxi234
Breakfast for dinner works for nights like that at our house. Bacon, eggs, toast pancakes waffles With the pancakes and waffles, you can make the batter ahead of time and cook them as needed. I usually make extra batter and make extra pancakes or waffles and the children eat them for breakfast the next day.
Desert Rat
On nights like that we do lunch meat, crackers and cheese with fruit and veggies. Or, grilled cheese and soup. Or, nachos. What sounds good to you?
Jean in Newcastle
Well, I ended up getting hamburger fixings. The potato salad, fruit salad and cole slaw can be kept cold and dished out as people come in. The hamburgers can be thrown on the grill as they come in.
