SKL
Is this the "change" I can believe in? Not to get into details, but I have never been irregular ever, until this month. I have no desire to procreate, so as far as I'm concerned, bring it on!
LucyStoner
It sounds like it could be perimenopause. I have a number of friends who started in their mid40s. It takes awhile from first signs to last period so don't get too excited.
mama2cntrykids
I don't think so, my mom started premen. by 34 yrs old. I am hoping for early too ;).
elegantlion
My mom was done by her mid 40s. I'm 45 and over ready to just be done with it all. Things are changing, but not quite there yet. So, no, you're not too young.
dbmamaz
I'm 47. 2 years ago I asked my ob-gyn and she said no, i have a long way to go. My mom thinks she stopped at 51 (which i guess is average?) but i swear she had a pregnancy scare past that. I am SOOO over it. Dh is snipped, anyways. But i used to kinda like the cycle and now i'm just SO ready for it to be over! :tongue_smilie:
SKL
I wish I could ask my mom when hers was, but she had a hysterectomy before menopause, so I probably wouldn't get an accurate idea from her.
SKL
After googling perimenopause, I'm thinking that might explain a lot - specifically my uncharacteristically low energy level, and bad attitude toward work. If that's the case, I am glad to have an explanation for it. Now if I could just take a sabbatical until this all gets behind me . . . .
