Hopefully somebody here has seen and/or used both of these CD Timeline Figures.

Why is the Homeschool in the Woods set $75 while the Hold That Thought one is $19.95? Is it that much easier to use or more flexible?

Thanks in advance!

HTT is not $19.95 for the entire set - there are two sets they offer. This explains the breakdown. There are also four separate timeline books. The program total may be less expensive that HitW, but I am not sure that is the case if you must buy all of those items. The artwork in both are different styles too.

HitW is all on one CD and you can modify the size as well as choose wording or leaving it off the figures. There are a lot of choices. I am not sure if HTH offers the kinds of choices HitW does. I own and use HitW and have found it to be very useful for many ages and many things. I use the larger sizes as coloring pages for my younger ones and use the smaller figures for my two older children for their timeline books. (There is also one truly beautiful book for every aspect of history.) We have also started a wall timeline with yet another size. The timeline figures are listed in various ways too - chronologically or alphabetically so things are easy to find.

I think it is going to come down to your own preferences. I like that the resources in HitW is all in one place, that it has flexibility and many uses, and I love the artwork and the timeline book. Even my little ones that are not doing history like to color her artwork. I would look at samples of both online, compare what each program covers, and add up the cost of what you will need. Then it might be easier to figure out what you really want. :001_smile:

Thanks a bunch, Kate! I did figure out that HitW includes the Bible and Church history in their package, so that you'd need to compare $39.98 to $75... but then I also found where HitW prohibits resale, so I guess I need to see if I can get them on sale or through WinterPromise's gift certificate bonus program if they do that next Christmas. Thanks for the review... it sounds like HitW is what I will be wanting (down the road... I guess I can wait. ;-D)

You also might get on the HitW email list. Sales and other things like that are announced via that. It is worth the money - and I don't say that lightly. :001_smile:
