lindblomnest
My son is 6 and we just began 1st grade. I have his reading notebook all ready to go, but I'm not sure where to begin. Should the reading notebook only include the planned supplemental reading we do (the Odyssey, etc.) or can it include any book we're reading? We just started reading the Magic Tree House book Sunset of the Sabertooth while we're learning about archaeology, etc. Should we make a notebook page for this book, or save this exercise only for more 'serious' books? freeindeed
If your son wants to make notebook pages for the less "serious" books, then I would go for it. :)
ALB
We do a narration from our read aloud about twice a week in dd's reading notebook. While we have done some from Greek Myths, they are mostly from our longer read alouds (just finished Wizard of Oz, now are doing Tales from the Odyssey). lindblomnest
Thanks for the advice. I think we'll go ahead and make a page for this current book.
