Katiebug_1976
I am so excited to use Essentials in Writing with my kids this year! It looks like a great program. I know there are several on this board that have already used it so I am wondering how you scheduled it (how many days per week etc.)? I will be using grades 1, 4, 7, 10, & 11 (I know grades 10 & 11 have not been released yet, so I don't expect anyone to know about scheduling for those, but I would really appreciate it if you would share how the younger grades worked for you. We're getting off to a little bit of a late start and I really need all the help I can get w/o haveing to spent hours researching things, kwim? Thanks so much for anything you have to offer. TN Mama
We do EIW 5x week. Matthew suggests one section/day. So, lesson 8A on Monday, 8B on Tuesday, 8C on Wednessday, 9A on Thursday, etc. I did double up some of the shorter lessons, but for the most part we're doing 1 section per day, 5 days a week. MerryAtHope
I schedule 30 minutes per day for writing and my kids just go as far as they can in that time. They might watch the video & do 2 sections, or they might only do part of a section and need more writing time the next day.
brill123
I would like to ask which writing program is best to go with? Essentials in writing or Evan-moor writing books? http://www.evan-moor.com/Curriculum.aspx?CurriculumID=
