Catwoman
Thanks! :001_smile: I am shocked. This is the second homeschool article I have read lately that doesn't make it sound like all homeschoolers are crazed religious fanatics, Earth Mother Hippie Chicks living off the grid in freaky communes, or Tiger Moms who want their kids to graduate from college at 11. It was nice to see homeschooling presented as a viable alternative, and to see some statistics that present hsing in a positive light. I opted not to click on the link that looked like it was going to discuss the negatives, though, as I like living in my happy little world. :tongue_smilie:

Rivka
Love this from the comments section: "There are weird kids in school and weird homeschooled kids. Everyone knows very well that if cool people started wearing ugly pants, it would be in style – that means if you homeschool a cool kid, that kid will still be cool. If you public school an outcast, they will still be an outcast. One advantage to the outcast is that if they are homeschooled, they might keep some self-esteem." theYoungerMrsWarde
Did I miss something? That didn't seem like much of an article to me. And "But if the number of kids who are homeschooled continues to rise, it may signal a noteworthy trend." I am pretty sure it's already a noteworthy trend, and has been for some time. :glare:

That would be one of our primary reasons for homeschooling. Off to read the article, thanks for the link!
