Home'scool
We moved my oldest into her dorm yesterday. It was a LOT of work, but so much fun to finally put together all the stuff that we have spent months buying! Her roommate moves in today, and so far she is having a great time. It is a little surreal to have her gone, and walking by her empty bedroom this morning was a jolt, but all in all it went well. She kept saying that she was going to miss the pets so much, so I purchased a Corgi stuffed animal, a Bernese stuffed animal, and a black cat stuffed animal to represent our pets. I attached some pics if anyone wants to see!

dirty ethel rackham
Her room looks adorable. Ds wouldn't let me do anything for his room except try to bring some order to his closet. He wouldn't let me take pictures of his room.

I had a wall covered with her pictures. Your Dd's room looks great! Do you actually own a Burnese & Corgi? Both of my Dc worked with those two breeds for some time at 4H and love them. We still visit them from time to time. They have their own dogs now. It sounds like you're handling the transition well.

The mother of the boy moving in next door kept trying to drag him over to see how "nice" her room was set up and make suggestions, but you could tell he couldn't care less! And, yes, she is living next to boys. In fact, her wing has 4 girls and 20 boys. The other side of the wing is split about 50/50. Maybe that is why she looks so happy haha! Yes, we have both breeds. They are great pets! The Corgi is definitely the alpha dog, even though he is so much smaller. My Bernese is just way to sweet and quiet tempered to want to assert himself. Both tend to want to herd my cat, though, so she isn't so happy when they are around!
West Coast Mom
I love the cloth above her bed. It tones down that concrete dorm feeling. Very cozy and a great idea!

This, to me, is the hardest part. :grouphug: I'm OK with dd's room, but ds's is still making me tear up 10 days later.

Makes me wonder why I didn't go with those two breeds...grooming would be a lot easier. (There's a grooming thread going on right now too.) My cat isn't thrilled with our dogs either. Your Dd is fortunate that you thought of such a nice way for her to remember her pets.
Home'scool
grooming would be a lot easier. OMG my Corgi sheds SO MUCH. We brush him and could fill two bags with the fur and he still had more to come off. I don't know if he is just extra furry or something, but the shedding is really excessive
