Jpoy85
Dh and I went to the store (kids were with a sitter, YAY!). I wore a long blue jean skirt, white t-shirt and a white snood. Here is what happened when I was ringing things up while DH bagged: Man to DH: Excuse me I dont mean to be rude, but are you Amish? DH: No Man: Is your wife amish? DH: No, its just her headcovering Man: Oh, now i feel rude, sorry. Ive just never met an Amish person before DH: Its ok. Me: smiling :) I would of gladly educated him on the Amish though.
Kirch
That *is* funny. I mean, what was he going to do if you WERE Amish? Ask you for your autograph? "Uh, okay, thanks. Just curious."??? :tongue_smilie:

MrsBasil
:lol: That's funny and kind of sweet in an odd way. I have an acquaintance who covers and dresses that way. One time she was in the grocery store buying soda and this happened: Woman: "I didn't know the Amish were allowed to drink Mountain Dew." Her: "I don't know if they are, but I'm not Amish" Woman: "Mennonite?" Her: "Nope, just feel led to dress this way." Woman: "Oh, well that makes some sense. I figured it would have been hard to park a buggy here anyway."
