This has absolutely nothing to do with homeschooling, other than that ds laughed so hard at this I thought he might wet my pants. He does a funny called "White and Nerdy" - its a take on some recent pop song that I recognize but am simply not cool enough to remember the name. I remember Weird Al from the "Just Eat It" days, but this one is pretty humorous.

There's also one called "Ebay", and if you are an ebayer, you will certainly laugh. It should be just off to the right of "White and Nerdy".

My ds showed us this awhile back and I was amazed at how many of the things applied to our family. ;-)

Have you seen "Living in an Amish Paradise."

I have. Ds likes that one, too. Ds likes to be funny and his attempts at humor were taking a turn to be, well, bordering on tasteless. So, I showed him Tim Hawkins on youtube to show him that comedians can be funny and tasteful. I ordered the Tim Hawkins cd and his standup on dvd and he thoroughly dug it! Then, dh shared that when we were younger, Weird Al was a funny fellow. I showed both dc "Like a Surgeon" and "Just Eat It" and maybe a few others - they were so bored they got up and found something else to do! Then I saw these other two, and Amish Paradise (which ds just loaded onto his mp3 today), and one or two more, which just made me LAUGH. So, I thought I'd share :-)

Ds thinks its funny because he likes Star Wars, has a room full of chess trophies and just got braces a few weeks ago. Along with too many more things that felt familiar!

We saw him in concert last summer and just about died laughing. My current favorite is "You're Pitiful" because our local radio station just wouldn't stop playing the song it's based on... and it's just plain funny!!

This song "White and Nerdy" came out about a year ago and it's a spoof of the song "Ridin' Dirty" by Chamillionaire. If you watch "Ridin' Dirty" (on youtube) and then watch "White and Nerdy" again, it's even funnier. I wouldn't watch it with kids around as it has pretty explicit gangsta' rap type lyrics. I'm glad Weird Al is still cranking out the hillarious spoof songs!

I laugh at people who want to buy Baby Einstein tapes. My dd spent her first months of life listening to Weird Al, and she's perfectly alright.

;)

Rosie- who's dh owns a "White and Nerdy" jumper!
