BMW Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Would you autotically give benadryl for wasp bites? The area is red all around, it is elevated (leg), wondering if I should just automatically give it... Thanks, Bee Quote
Old Dominion Heather Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 It depends on the age of the person, for me anyway, and whether there is swelling around the sting and whether they have any other symptoms. For my mildly allergic dh, yes. For the kids, not unless it is the little guy, because he is so little. The older boys tough it out. But when in doubt, give the Benedryl, IMO. Quote
kRenee Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Did you put vinegar on it? It neutralizes the base in the 'sting' that makes your skin hurt. No, I wouldn't automatically give Benedryl, but I would keep a watchful eye on the person for a few hours. Quote
