Tell me about your 4-5 month old

If all goes well, we will have our new daughter Friday! She is 4 1/2 months old. It has been soooooo long since we were in the baby stage (ds is 9 1/2 yrs) I don't remember much what he was doing at 4 months.

 

So, how big is your 4-5 month old and what are they doing? How many hours do they sleep at a time? If anyone here bottle feeds, how much are they eating and how often? What else?

I would ask about her schedule and eating habits from her previous care givers.

 

I would say about 5-6 oz. of formula at a feeding but that can vary.

 

When I would get foster babies in at that age, I would put them on a schedule of 10am nap time, 1:30 nap time, about 5pm cat nap and then bed about 9pm. They would sleep, get up and play, eat, etc. I often had 4 or more little ones at a time so I HAD to have a schedule to survive.

 

Some are eating a bit of cereal or food at that age but I think the current suggestions are to wait until 6 months.

My daughter just turned 4 months. She smiles, giggles, is starting to try to grab things, and is starting to roll over. She takes 3 naps a day and sleeps 10-12 hours a night. She eats 6-8oz of formula per feeding. Basically she is the best baby age right now. :)
