Mom2legomaniacs Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Like in the way you feel? Or am I just more nuts than I thought? Quote
Pam "SFSOM" in TN Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Like in the way you feel? Or am I just more nuts than I thought? YES! As in, most recently, migraines. Yuck, yuck, yuck. You are not crazy. Okay, perhaps you are crazy, but not because of this. :leaving: Quote
Sarah CB Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Not really. Except that I love it when it pours out or when it snows because it makes me feel like I've got a good excuse to have a cozy day indoors. Quote

Okay, perhaps you are crazy, but not because of this. :leaving: :tongue_smilie: Yes, I think we both know I am crazy. I hate how weather systems can make me feel so awful! The pressure in my head, scratchiness, tired eyes and body, fatigue, cruds. Hate it! Quote
muffinmom Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I'm convinced I feel every miniscule change in barometric pressure. Probably the most common thing that happens now is a headache. I used to get so fatigued when spring storm systems moved in that I would feel drugged. But in recent years, that has gotten better. So either you're not crazy or we both are. (I've been accused of worse!) Quote
Plaid Dad Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 If you're crazy, so am I. My dw calls me the Human Barometer. My sinuses are more accurate forecasters than the local weatherman. :( Quote
dirty ethel rackham Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Another Human Barometer here. Only it is unpredictable where I will experience pain. Sometimes it is a blinding sinus headache, sometimes I feel it in the back, the knees, the ankles, wrists, neck, etc. Quote
Mom2legomaniacs Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 Thank you! I feel every little change too! What's funny is that for a while after one surgery I had, the area would twitch with the changes as well. I won't tell you what twitched though.;) (don't go in the gutter on that one!) Quote
Brigitte Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 It's not just you. Rainy, cold weather really get me down and incapable of doing much. I would hate to see what I was like if my parents hadn't moved to the US from Belgium! Quote

I won't tell you what twitched though.;) (don't go in the gutter on that one!) Oh, you mean in the physical sense not the mental! My sinuses are affected usually by humidity. And, a while back, my knee could tell you if rain was in the forecast. Quote
Mom2legomaniacs Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 Yes, physical manifestations. Fatigue, scratchiness (head, throat), headaches, eye strain feelings, general malaise, achy body here and there. Yeah, the surgery site would twitch with the pressure systems. It was a booK tumor removal. Dh would say that he could see this in the future as "There's a storm's coming, Ma's booK's twitchin' again." Okay, spilled it all. I can hide in shame now. (it doesn't do that anymore) Quote
Natalieclare Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I feel electicity the most. I just frizzle when we have thunder/lightning storms. I can't even sleep. Zing! Quote
Christine Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I'm convinced I feel every miniscule change in barometric pressure. Probably the most common thing that happens now is a headache. Oh, it's such a relief that it's NOT just me! The headaches can, at times, almost be debilitating. Quote
2cents Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Definately! When the pressure drops I get almost instant sick type migraines. It just happened last night about an hour before we had a huge storm. Dh says I'm better than a doppler. Quote
Trivium Academy Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Yes. Gloomy day, tired and unmotivated mamma. Sunny day with a breeze, a mamma full of energy! :thumbup1: Now if it rains on a sunny day, I'm okay but if the day starts gloomy, I'm in trouble. :001_huh: Quote
ClassicMom Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Like in the way you feel? Or am I just more nuts than I thought? Terrible migraines here too, just like Pam. I know when a storm is coming before the meteorologist. Quote
TravelingChris Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Thunderstorms bring migraines. I have been having a migraine here for the last 6 days. Dreary rainly weather brings on arthritic pain. Quote
unsinkable Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Add me to the Human Barometer Club. It's awful, to say the least. Quote
Qs3 Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Me too! The ankle I broke when I was one, and the shoulder I dislocated a couple of years ago always ache when the weather changes. The sinus pressure, the tiredness, I get it all. Quote
Jenny in Atl Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 YES!!!!! Headaches, feeling like someone is taking their thumb and pressing me into the ground. Fall is the worst, when the strong cold fronts start rolling in around October. This has always been frustrating to me, since this is my favorite time of the year. Quote

The pressure in my head, scratchiness, tired eyes and body, fatigue, cruds. Hate it! Every time I see you post about your allergies, I can't help but think how much my daughter is just like you. She is on the same medications - singulair & astelin. None of the others work for her. She clearly has a pretty bad allergy to dairy, as well as environmental allergies, but almost nothing shows up on her allergy tests. The last allergist we went to said that she thought she had something called vasomotor rhinitis, which is what you are describing. I think that's why the Astelin works for her. It is specifically for vasomotor rhinitis as well as environmental allergies. Lisa Quote

Thanks for sharing about that. I will look that up and see if I can learn more about my issues! Quote
mcconnellboys Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I see the children around me affected greatly, and just this past year, I began to ache all over when large, wet weather systems would come through. I now see what the old folks used to mean when they spoke of their "rheumatism" acting up with the weather. Quote
