Carol in Cal.
Does anyone know the German proverb that translates, "Man Proposes, but God Disposes?" My great-grandmother died suddenly (years ago) while writing this in a letter to a friend of hers back home in Germany. I would like to know the German so I can put it on my wall. Acadie
Could she have been writing in French? I've heard this: "L'homme propose, Dieu dispose." But maybe there's something similar in many languages... Good luck! Amy
Carol in Cal.
No, I am positive that it was German. I have heard that it was also translated into at least one Scandenavian language as well. I don't know which language was the original, but have thought it was German.
