T Baer
Here's the website http://www.gpb.org/irasshai. You can purchase the books at Booksurge http://www.booksurge.com/search.htm?keyword=Irasshai Also, our local community college uses Genki I textbooks. Here's the info from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/GENKI-Integrated-Elementary-Japanese-Edition/dp/4789014401/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346242847&sr=8-1&keywords=Genki+I We may be going this route next year and thus DS will be getting dual credit. My suggestion is if you are going to do dual credit, it might be worth it to familarize yourself with the textbooks the college/university uses (of course the school could change what they use) and possible test out of a semester or two. I think I might have tested out of 1st year Japanese if I had done this. As it was, I tested out of the 1st semester of 1st year and may be enrolling in 2nd semester of 1st year in January. This might help DS when he enrolls next Fall. As with any language, practice speaking is essential.
