aerial bug spray prep?

Recommended Posts

We were notified yesterday that the county will do aerial pesticide spraying tonight due to West Nile. They just said it was going to happen, nothing about preparing for it. Is there something we should do to prepare for it? I'll keep the dc and dp (dear pets) inside, but anyting else?

The spray in our area too using big tanker trucks that roll through the neighborhoods.

We just try to get inside as quick as possible when we see the spray trucks coming, If they were spraying with airplanes I might consider covering our pool and bringing in any outside pet dishes.

If you are in Dallas, the news has had some prep info. The biggest being cover any fish ponds you have. Duet is toxic to fish.

If you wash any veggies well, you should be fine.

Stay indoors when they are spraying and keep your windows closed. I'd be tempted to shut the AC off while they are spraying.

It's hard to be believe that half of the nation's West Nile cases are in the Dallas.
