besroma
We are using The Great Courses' lecture series on The History of Ancient Egypt. The set includes 8 dvds with 48 lectures of approximately 30 minutes each. It is *excellent*. The professor, Bob Brier, is very entertaining and dynamic. DH and I are watching the lectures prior to showing them to DD11 and DS9 and have not come across anything yet that is objectionable. He is careful how he phrases his statements about Darwin, religion, theology, etc., so you can easily address your differences in beliefs (or skip a few tracks). I highly recommend this set to anyone studying ancient Egypt.

momto2Cs
Thank you! I was very pleasantly surprised to find that our library has quite a few of their courses available. Think I'll be checking those out!
d.g.
Thanks for sharing! I've started a personal wish list of Great Courses for myself, including that one. It's good to know that I might be able to share at least some of them with my older DS before high school. :D
