Ginevra
If you or your child has learned a language extensively from RS, I'd like to know that. Thanks! :001_smile:
kroe1
Extensively, but not exclusively. Spanish, now at Level IV. Also did BJU for elementary and read children's storybooks in Spanish. At this point I can listen to CNN in Spanish and get the gist of the news, but not the details. I can also converse with McDonald's employees on a superficial level. The next step is to travel for complete immersion, but that's not in my near future. DD12 and I are at the same level. Chinese up to Level II. We could not have started with Rosetta Stone, as it was too hard. We started with a couple of years of BetterChinese. We are taking this language VERY slow. I can only converse in simple phrases for simple subjects. I would be lost in the middle of a conversation. DD12 is ahead of me, but not by a lot. HTH :)
justLisa
We use it, but also have a native speaker. My kids are not far enough through it yet to really say. I think it's good. I went through it myself, but also studied more on paper.

Especially what you said about Chinese. I was considering getting a program for Russian. I don't have any other Russian exposure at this time and wondered if there would be any point working on RS Russian if I didn't currently have another avenue for immersion. Dory
With Hebrew my family has learned that it's just not a good first step. It is an excellent second step though. For us it was a helpful step in the language learning process.
