Debbie in OR
I have been on pinterest for months but a couple of days ago, a naked and very provocative picture of a woman was on my page. I was surprised but mostly just glad dd11 wasn't sitting there with me (when we have a few minutes, she and I will pin things we want to do together...nail painting, crafts, etc..) Last night while I was on, there was another woman pic and then a very graphic male picture. Now I am mad. I mean, really? I am afraid to open it now and I sure as heck won't let dd be with me until I figure it out. Granted, I am a social media baby and maybe I just missed some filter I was supposed to click on...does anyone know? Is anyone else having this issue? oasis
Is it one particular person who is posting all the naked pics? I'll see some naked pins if I visit the general "Everything" category on Pinterest, but if I'm only viewing the feed displaying my friends' pins, there's never been anything like that. If you find it's just one person posting them, you can unfollow the person, or just unfollow the particular folder where he/she is pinning those types of photos. Mama_Rana
You can also report pins like that. If you click on the thumbnail, on the right side there's a button for "Report Pin", and it gives you options. There's been a lot more spam recently, and there also seem to be some people who think Pinterest is a good way to collect provocative pictures. Not sure if they don't realize that Pinterest is totally public, or if they just don't care.

bobbeym
I've seen pics like that on Pinterest too if I'm on their main page and not logged in to my account.
Debbie in OR
So, if I click on the pic, I can unfollow them? I was afraid to click in the pic because I wasn't sure where it would take me. I usually do click on "everything" but I assumed that was still only the people I am following. See, here's where my newb shows up :). I am glad to know I can report pins...definitley doing that too. I will head over there now and see about unfollowing. Thanks so much for the info...really grateful :)
oasis
If you click the big Pinterest logo at the top of the page, you'll only be viewing your friends' pins. If you go to the "Everything" page, you'll see the random members' pins. If you're viewing the "Everything" page, you do not need to unfollow anyone. Those pictures display even though you're not following those random members. I hope this helps! :D Edited August 9, 2012 by oasis
kubiac
Yep, there's porn on Pinterest. It is a visually oriented site, so it was just a matter of time. I've stumbled across it now and again, and I will say, it is the girliest, daintiest, most genteel porn I've ever seen, LOL. Ah, Pinterest.
