PeterPan Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 We're getting too much light in the pantry and my potatoes are turning green, help!!! If I buy a potato box (something I've never had), will it help, or will they turn green anyway? Quote
abreakfromlife Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 they shouldn't, if it's dark. You don't want to store them by onions, tho. I know some potato bins are potatoes and onions side by side, which is a huge no-no. I have noticed that sometimes my Save-a-lot potatoes will turn green if I've had them for awhile - they tend to get gross after awhile anyways, and I wonder if they are old to begin with or what. I try not to buy them from there if I can help it. Quote
PeterPan Posted July 11, 2008 Author Posted July 11, 2008 Guess I'll just buy one and see what happens... Quote
Guest Virginia Dawn Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 I have a potato and onion bin. The potatoes do not turn green. Why shouldn't the two be near each other? Quote
