Samiam
Thinking about doing either Netflix or Hulu+ to have access to documentaries for history...doing ancients this year. But I cant access either library to see what they offer, and I know when we where With Netflix before a lot of things I wanted instantly were only DVD:(. At this point I'm looking for IMAX films about Egypt. Can you tel me if either Netflix or Hulu+ offers these streaming. Thxs
ILiveInFlipFlops
Try looking here for Netflix's library: http://instantwatcher.com For Hulu+, you can sign up for a free week to see what they offer, but Netflix's offerings in the documentary genre are VASTLY superior to Hulu's. I find that Netflix is more of a "Hm, let's see what's on here that I might like to watch" service than a "I really hope they have this movie on Instant Watch!" service. If you will regularly be looking for specific things, you probably won't be happy. Or you could do the Instant Watch plan + the 1 DVD at a time plan. We find that suits our needs just fine. HTH! Jpoy85
IMO, Hulu is better.
OnTheBrink
I have both, but they serve different purposes. Netflix is "I think I wanna watch a movie, let's see what I can find" and "OH look! A documentary about (some very exciting topic/something that would enhance our study of...) so we must watch it!" Hulu is "OH good. All my favorite current shows are ready for me when I have time to watch them."
A.Balaban
I have both, but they serve different purposes. Netflix is "I think I wanna watch a movie, let's see what I can find" and "OH look! All my favorite current shows are ready for me when I have time to watch them." :iagree::iagree::iagree: I find Hulu+ selection dismal for anything that isn't current tv show. DH and I sat down at one point together to find something to watch (I think we were scrolling through their movie selection?) and I don't know if I hit a button or something but EVERY movie sounded like it was soft-core p0rn! With Netflix, it is so much easier to navigate and I love that I can search just about ANY topic and find a film! And then next time you log in, there's a whole bunch of recommendations based on the one you just watched! They also really expanded their genre selections. We have both, but we only have Instant streaming for Netflix, no DVDs. However, I agree that it would be easier to subject search on Netflix than actual title search.
