How do you declutter photographs?

Recommended Posts

I did this a while back. It is sooo hard and time consuming to go through photos. I basically went through and threw away any that hadn't turned out good. I also threw away any duplicates. I also tried to keep only 1 picture per thing (so, I kept one good picture of pike's peak and threw away the other 30). I put all the photos we kept in similar sized albums so they lined nicely on a shelf. (However, I used shorter sized albums and wished I had used taller ones so I could get more photos per album... but, I don't want to start over now!) We also had hundreds of photos from overseas trips. I dedicated one album per trip and reduced them to only ones that would fit in the album.

It was hard to get rid of *any* photos, but I was really glad I did it. I would actually sit and look at the albums now, where before they were just overflowing in random boxes!

Thank you. I will do this. I think I just needed permission.
