Suzybearybake
We used Powerglide( hated it) and Swiched to a combination of Rosetta Stone and Breaking the Spanish Barrier. I like the fact that they have a chance to speech and have the computer help them correct pronunciation errors. I also like the immersion approach that helps them to connect the picture directly with the Spanish word as opposed to having to translate the picture to English and then to Spanish. Both programs are grammar deficient. We supplement with BSB to make sure that grammar and rules for usage are covered. I have heard alot of positive things about Switched on Schoolhouse's Spanish program. If cost were an issue, Ithink that I would go that route. I have heard that it better prepares one for Clep testing than Rosetta Stone.Hope this helps.
Sandy in Indy
My dd tried it in 9th grade. It didn't work well for us. It's been long enough (7 years!) that I don't really remember why we didn't like it. I just know that I bought it new, tried it for several weeks and sold it (at a loss, of course).
