mathwonk
That is funny. But here is another perspective from a senior citizen, who once won money in competitive spelling bees in an era when boys were told we didn't need to take typing, and is now forced to type on a computer. Namely I noticed one spelling error above is substituting one letter for another which occurs next to it on the keyboard, and the other is a lack of repetition of a keystroke. These things and other errors were rampant in this message until I edited it over and over before posting. So who knows for sure???:) Edited August 3, 2012 by mathwonk
Denise in Florida
That is funny. But here is another perspective from a senior citizen, who once won money in competitive spelling bees in an era when mainly girls took typing, and is now forced to type on a computer. Namely I noticed one spelling error above is substituting one letter for another which occurs next to it on the keyboard, and the other is a lack of repetition of a keystroke. These things and other errors were rampant in this message until I edited it over and over before posting. So who knows for sure???:) I remember learning typing on a manual typewriter (1970's). :001_smile: I know I make more mistakes now on my computer keyboard because it is faster and sooooo easy to correct. Remember those eraser pencils with the whisk top and carbon paper? I still remember being in awe of those electric typewriters that had the erase button (type over with white).:lol:

indigomama
So, I went to the sale, and the lady was so very friendly and sweet. Plus, I bought the most wonderful books there, for $.25 each! :hurray:

mathwonk
Does anyone else cringe at "different than" or sports announcers crowing about 40 wins "on the season"?
