Shenan Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Or does everyone use HUGHES, like we do?:glare: I am looking for feedback for other Satellite companies besides HUGHES. Has anyone used someone else? If so, how would you rate them? I want the good, the bad, and the ugly please.:D Quote
Debbie in IL Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 We use WildBlue - we have had it for almost 2 years, and we are very happy with it. Quote
Baseballmom Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 We use Hughes. We hate it. I call once a month to see if they have cable in my area yet. Just letting you know you're not alone. Dorothy Quote
Shenan Posted July 11, 2008 Author Posted July 11, 2008 We use WildBlue - we have had it for almost 2 years, and we are very happy with it. My husband was looking at their website the other night. Have you had any problems with their equipment or installation? If so, how easy was it to get 'educated' tech support. Also, how would you rate their plans? Do they 'zap' you whenever you use too much bandwith/watch too many videos/etc. Thanks for any help you can offer. We really, really, really, really, want to switch to someone more reliable and customer service oriented. We are afraid of shelling out a large amount of funds only to find the other services are on par with HUGHES. :( Thanks again for your help, Shenan Quote
Laurie in CA Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 even after multiple "upgrades" we get even slower service! The bill is higher too, like $80 a month. My husband has AT&T cell phone internet on his business laptop and loves it. It is around $60 a month (cheaper than Hughes) and he goes at warp speed. We live in the country and have limited choices. I would like to have AT&T on mine but don't have a port on my Mac for the AT&T card. With a cell phone internet you would have figure out some kind of a router system for your house if you have multiple computers. My husband and get internet service in his car with his set-up. elegantlion Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 You might look at RV.net. I know a lot of fulltime RV's have dealt with satellite. they have a forum on the site that you might search through for more good, bad, and ugly. Quote
