astrid
Hi there, It's clean, I promise. A member sent a complaint to me earlier to say that she couldn't see the documents on these pages. They've been up for a year, and this is the first complaint I've heard; she said that the watermark of our club logo in the background was obscuring some of the text. She's a MAC user, so I wonder if that's part of it? THey look fine to me on both my home and work computers. Could you click on these links and then tell me how they load for you? I'd sure appreciate it...... Here's the first one: http://www.leonbergerclubofamerica.com/pictures/pdfs/governancecommittee/MemberPractices7-07.1.pdf And here's the second: http://www.leonbergerclubofamerica.com/pictures/pdfs/governancecommittee/Const-BylawsFINAL7-20-07.pdf Thanks so much! Kelli in TN
They both look fine for me. I am using a PC. The logo appeared lightly as a background to the text. The text was clear and readable.
starlashine
I'm PC, and they looked fine to me. Woo-hoo, that rhymes!:001_smile: Anyway, if one was not zooming in I could see there being a problem, but once I zoomed both were fine.
Spy Car
Mac OSX 10.4.11 Both were fine. Interesting breed! Bill
Kathleen in VA
I'm using MacOSX 10.4.11 and the first one looked as if the watermark were superimposed over the document. The second one looked fine. I am using Firefox as my web browser.
astrid
You're both using the same machine; could it be the browser? Does Firefox do that sometimes? I don't know that browser at all Hmmmmm........

Spy Car
Double-checking from "home" computer (the other was the "office" computer using Firefox) this time using Safari and OS X 10.5.2 and both are fine. There is "difference" between the way Safari and Firefox render the images, with the "watermark" of the "Leonberger" dog being more legible Vs text in Firefox (or I should say "Preview" via Firefox). Mom2legomaniacs
Does screen size make a difference? I am on a MacBook. Hmmm, I'll check my IMac.
astrid
Thanks, Bill. So any suggestions how we can remedy this? I don't want to get rid of the watermark because they're proprietary documents, unique to our club. What would make them readable to everyone? Or is that even possible, given the differences in browsers and OS? (see how glamorous it is to be the president?! I get to deal with THIS kind of thing! :tongue_smilie:) Astrid
Mom2legomaniacs
Okay, it is fine on the IMac desktop. So it is the screen size then?

astrid
Okay, it is fine on the IMac desktop. So it is the screen size then? That would make sense; I know this person uses a MACbook. I'm not a mac person, so is there a way to change your screen resolution to make it legible?

JenneinCA
My husband is a computer geek, fluent in Mac. This is what he says: I'm not sure if the issue is in the Apple PDF support, or in the PDF generator you're using. (Apple is more likely, I suspect, but it could be either.) Whichever it is, though, the problem is that something in that PDF isn't getting along with Apple's PDF support. I've put a PNG image of what it looks like on my Mac (OSX 10.5.4) at http://www.kazrak.com/MemberPractices7-07.1.png so you can see. Unfortunately, I can't tell you how to fix it, since I can't pin down exactly where the problem is. As a workaround, your Mac users can download Adobe Reader from http://www.adobe.com and use that for that particular PDF; I don't particularly like recommending it, because it's got several annoyances of its own, but it does properly display that PDF. Another option would be to try a different PDF generator; I'm not sure which you're using, though, and don't have any particularly good suggestions on what would be better. Kazrak (Jenne in AZ's husband) I hope this helps a little
