trishat
Can someone recommend an art curriculum that is boy-friendly? Right now we're using Art with a Purpose. DD6 loves it, but DS8 groans at all the kittens, children, and flowers. He needs something that will teach him to draw spaceships and superheroes. I've been just looking up stuff on the web, and that's been working, but I don't want I have to spend so much time searching, and I'd like something that's actually going to teach some art techniques. mom31257
I like Mark Kistler's lessons online. Homeschool Buyer's Co-op has a special listed here. He has tons of instructions for making all kinds of drawings. If you click on each "school" you can go in and see lots of the things you can learn to draw. Some of the ones that are on the turning table are free to watch, too.

SilverMoon
My 8.5yo ds really enjoyed the Draw Write Now books. They include step by step drawing instructions, and include a few copywork sentences to go with it. He had his penmanship and drawing fix all in one place. There's also Draw and Write through History if you want to tie into something else you're already doing.
