Bug's Mom
No photos, sorry. My knitting group meets at a local sub shop on Wed. nights. It's next door to an Irish pub...just before we were leaving tonight, I spotted a man in a kilt. I tilted my head towards the window and said to my fellow knitters, "Man in a kilt." All talking ceased for a moment. :) We saw him a bit later, heading back with bagpipes.
Jeannie in NJ
the only time I have seen a man in a kilt (in real life that is) was at the funeral of an elderly friend of mine that was Scottish (as am I). Anyway, his adult grandson came down the aisle in full Scottish regalia playing Amazing Grace on the bagpipes. It was beautiful ( I love bagpipe music,) so touching and moving. fhjmom
There was a man in a kilt playing the bagpipes at the Memorial Day ceremony we went to this year. I thought of the Hive but thought it would probably be an inappropriate setting to take a pic so I refrained.
garddwr
We attended a Scottish festival in the area a couple of weeks ago--men in kilts were everywhere, and I couldn't help thinking of the Hive all day. My niece was there with her "good friend" and he was wearing a kilt--I couldn't help approving of the relationship:D
Mom in High Heels
LOL! That's awesome. James Bond and I were in London in 1999 staying at a hotel that caters to military (not just US, but all military) and there was a reunion of a Scottish regiment from WWII, which made them quite elderly. They all wore kilts all day. We got on the Tube one day and one of the men got in the same car and sat down directly across from us. JB and I were looking at maps and what not, when I happened to glance across the aisle. I leaned over and told JB to look up. He did and nearly slid off his seat. We found out that they truly do not wear anything under them! We go to loads of Scottish festivals here and I always love the kilts.
bobbeym
My middle brother embraces our Scottish ancestry and is heavily involved in Renaissance festivals. He has lots of kilts. I've gotten quite used to him showing up at our parents' house for this or that holiday kilted. We don't discuss whether anything is underneath; that falls into the TMI category. :001_huh:
