Liz CA
Does anyone have a way to make lemonade without a ton of sugar? :bigear:
justLisa
I mix lemons and oranges. Kids call it citrus punch and it tastes yummy. You really do not need to add much sweetener to it.
Lang Syne Boardie
If you juice lemons and apples together and pour it over ice it is the best summer drink in the whole world. No sugar. Now I have to go buy some lemons. I haven't made this once, even in this heat! I guess I forgot.
Caitilin
We do 1part lemon juice, 1part honey, 3parts water. You could probably reduce the honey to 2/3 or 3/4, but I wouldn't want it much sourer than that. ;)
CalicoKat
I use stevia.
Mrs Mungo
If you make a simple syrup, then you use less sugar. I don't use sugar substitute stuff though.

justasque
The basic ratio I use is 1:1:6.5. So one part lemon juice, one part sugar, and six and a half parts water. It is *super* popular at parties, and folks used to the commercial versions think it's *amazing*. Of course, that's because it's real sugar and real lemon and no stuff you can't pronounce. It isn't super-sweet, but there is a cup of sugar or so in a 64-oz jug, which is a lot. But then, commercial lemonade has even more, we just don't see it going in... You might start with such a formula, then experiment with various alterations. For example, I've experimented with blending up strawberries and stirring them in.
