Advice on which kitchen utensil to use

A friend gave me a large quantity of goat cheese and a recipe to make it garlic and chive cheese. I'm just not sure how to mix it up. I don't have a standing mixer, and I'm not sure my hand mixer will work because the cheese seems pretty stiff. How can I mix in the extras? I do have a food processor, but I've never used it to just mix something. Thanks for any advice!
