AvasMom
Ok, it seems like more than a few people here have some psychological training. So explain to me why I can eat healthy all day but as soon as night comes I want to munch the night away? I eat enough (both in calories and macros) during the day so it's not that. I have always struggled with this and never under stood it.
Bang!Zoom!
Google around on slow release proteins. Digestive times on them are different, your body "wants" slow release protein before beddy bye.
usetoschool
I don't know the answer but feel the same way - often! I get the serious munchies in the evening. I sometimes think it is because I am tired or wound up and eating has been a way to boost my energy with carbs or forget about my problems. So, bump for you and hopefully answers for both of us. :)
Lovedtodeath
Well, just a thought... I don't enjoy my food during the day because my family always interrupts me.
Impish
For me, it tends to be emotional/boredom that drives me to the fridge.

It is also a habit and a hard one to break.
AvasMom
 Me too. It is also a habit and a hard one to break. :iagree: And the more I think about how I really need to not munch the more I want to chow down. :banghead:

Mynyel
I am the same way. I can eat and eat and eat in the evening/night. It is like I am a bottomless pit. Yet during the day I don't seem to eat or want to eat as much. I hate it.
Georgiana Daniels
I have the SAME problem! Wondering if maybe a higher intake duuring the day would curb the night cravings?
justLisa
OH night time snacking is my WEEKNESS. I NEED to give up beer. But it's just. so. good. And then it makes me snacky. Maybe I need to break out the big stuff so it just makes me crash on the couch  At night I just take a scoop of greek yogurt and sprinkle some cinnamon on it and lick it really slowly off the spoon pretending it's ice cream. But then I realize it's not attall and I get up to get something else.

Annie G
For me, it's a reward for a day's work well done. When I was a kid, treats were used as rewards. Icees and ice cream were typical rewards for me. Also, family gatherings have always been centered around food. So in the evenings, I want to munch on something partly because I've made it through another day, and partly because it's usually the only time our family is together. I do NOT need the calories but it's a hard cycle to break.
Kaleidoscope
99% of the time if I'm munchy I need to go to bed.
