butterfly113
I have been on the pearson website looking at the Lial's textbooks for algebra. I understand the difference between prealgebra, introductory algebra and intermediate algebra. Yet there are so many texts, it is a little confusing. There are texts which appear to be in the following sequence: PreAlgebra Introductory Algebra Intermediate Algebra HOWEVER... there are also the following texts: Prealgebra and Introductory Algebra Introductory and Intermediate Algebra Are these "combo" titled texts the same as the other three listed above? Do they simply introduce a few beginning topics in the next level? Can someone share a little more clarity? THANKS!
SilverMoon
The combos are not the same. It's my understanding that they're more for students who need to review, rather than students who are learning it for the first time. They seem to be more condensed and move through the material faster.
butterfly113
Thank you SilverMoon! I just finished reading another thread where you had mentioned the H.A. Guerber books, and Memoria Press offering Student Guides for them. I went to the website, yet wasn't able to find any samples of the guides. Are there any comprehension questions? Other reading suggestions? etc?

If that doesn't answer your questions, bump that thread up with them and you'll probably get an answer by the end of Monday. :001_smile:
butterfly113
Super! That gives me enough to go by... Do you know if there are other guides for the other Guerber books? ie Ancients, etc.?
SilverMoon
Off the top of my head, I don't know anyone else that makes guides comparable to MP's for Guerber. Easy Classical lines some Guerber books up with SOTW and VP cards in their history schedules, but the comp questions aren't going to be from just the Guerber books.
