called2hs Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I have an 11 year old 6th grader and an 8 year old 3rd grader that will be starting Latin for the first time this year. I am considering using Memoria Press' Latin program but if I follow the guidelines of WTM, my 11 year old should begin with Latina Christiana I and my 8 year old should begin Prima Latina. I would like to use one curriculum for both children so I am trying to decide if I should just start my 8 year old off with LC I or, do a speed study through PL with both before going into LC I. Any suggestions? Quote
JaneGrey Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I bought both just in case, but my 6yo just went through LC I with no problem. I think your 8yo will be fine with it, too. The only part I skipped was the derivatives. Let me know if you want more info on the two. Quote
SkateLeft Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I'm all for simplifying. I would just do LC1 with both of them, particularly if your 8yo is a solid reader already. My younger dd had no trouble keeping up with LC1 at that age. :) Quote
