soonermomma Posted July 20, 2012 Share Posted July 20, 2012 I'm looking for some ideas of some fun things I can do with my kids when we need a break from actual school work and need to do something fun, but maybe a little educational at the same time. Erica in OR Posted July 20, 2012 Share Posted July 20, 2012 You could do some P.E. type stuff, teaching either indoor games or do some things outdoors—throwing a ball around, Frisbee, soccer, volleyball. I was a bit embarrassed when my kids did some activities (like recreational gymnastics) and just weren't familiar with some of the games they used, like Duck Duck Goose, Mother May I, Red Light Green Light. Something else that also seems to be falling by the wayside is singing simple songs. I flipped through a binder of what seem to be classic children's songs, and the kids don't really know any, other than the ones that come up in piano lessons.
