dirty ethel rackham Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 My ultraskinny 14yos just had 5 baby teeth pulled - one had a really long root that never resorbed. He is doing OK but uncomfortable. He needs a soft foods diet - no chewing - for the next 24 - 48 hours. He is also allergic to milk - so need alternate smoothie ideas and other soft foods that have some protein so he doesn't get crabby from low blood sugar. I am off to the library for some Star Trek: Next Gen episodes and to TJ's for soy yogurt, bananas and frozen mangos for a smoothie. Any other ideas? Quote
sdWTMer Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Scrambled eggs and apple sauce Bananas and water to make like a banana drink. Quote
Faithr Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Do cold things bother him? Soup, oatmeal, scrambled eggs (as the poster above suggested). If cold things don't bother him then smoothies and shakes, pudding and custard are all good. Quote
readwithem Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 When my dd had her wisdom teeth out a few weeks ago, she had fruit smoothies (OJ, banana and strawberries with crushed ice), grated cheese, soft rolls I got from Whole Foods.... Quote
tinag Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 When my dd had her wisdom teeth pulled she ate jello, ice cream, and a lot of mashed potatoes, which she loves. A lot of people add milk to their mashed potatoes but I use chicken broth. You could also make sweet potato soufle(sp?) Just boil potatoes. mash them, add brown sugar and butter and bake at 350 for 30 min. Quote
Jen500 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, tomato soup, hummus. I think the drinks like Ensure are dairy free. I hope his mouth is feeling better soon. Quote
