US Made Shoes

Recommended Posts

I have worn Merrell shoes for years. That really is the only thing I have but I am do to get a pair of fallish shoes that are similar to Merrells with good support like them but without the antibacterial stuff in them.

I have also been trying to purchase American made when ever possible with items I purchase. It looks as though this isn't all that easy with shoes. Any ideas?

One other thing, they can't cost $300. :D I can handle up to around $100 if they are a good shoe as I generally wear a pair of shoes for a couple of years or more.

Here are two American made shoe places I've found:

Munro http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/womens-comfort-shoes-munro?origin=leftnav http://www.munroshoes.com/

Okabashi http://www.okabashi.com/ (sandals and flip flops but they're really inexpensive!! and comfortable)

Thanks for taking the time to send the links. The last ones are not an option as my skin does not respond to the plastic shoes. Maybe us made wouldn't have the same stuff in them? Not sure but....

I need to look at the Munro a bit more though. There might be something there that I could wear.

I love my okabashi flip flops. They're not really plastic or vinyl, they're more like a very dense foam. I'm not sure what they're made of, but they're dishwasher safe and recyclable. I only know they're foam because my dog turned the first pair into a teether (at least he liked to chew foam, and not expensive leather shoes). The only thing about them is that if you have a very high arch, they kind of press on the top of your foot as the straps aren't super flexible. I don't mind because they're definitely NOT going to slip off my foot, but it is a strange feeling.
