ladydusk
Jesus Storybook Bible (I hate the illustrations, but love the writing) ETA: We also loved (with the exception of the very beginning) Catherine Vos' Child's Story Bible. We like all of Susan Hunt's children's books Our favorite children's book is God's Alphabet for Life. kesmom
The Jesus Storybook Bible with CDs. I think it's called the delux edition. We also have the Big Picture Story Bible but I found the writing a bit redundant and painful to read.
raceNzanesmom
My ds loved the Jesus Storybook Bible. We read through it twice, then he wanted the real thing.
Penelope
Vos was my favorite, until I got the Golden Children's Bible, the one Memoria Press uses. I think it works for a range of ages.
Food4Thought
Jesus Storybook Bible, with the CDs. We've had it for two years, and the kids still listen to it quite often. It's a wonderful version (and I love the illustration style, although I can see how it can be a matter of taste whether you like it or not). thebarefootamazon
We also love the Jesus Storybook Bible. We just purchased the audio CDs and my kids think that it's the coolest thing ever. We also have a Explorer's Bible Study Beginnings: And It Was Good! (Old Testament Lessons for Little Learners). We haven't begun using it yet but it looks interesting. A home for their hearts
I saw that there is a curriculum for The Jesus StoryBook Bible has anyone used it? It's a little pricey but includes a hardcopy of The Jesus StoryBook Bible, 3 audio CD's, a DVD_ROM with printables and 44 bonus animated videos. Thanks everyone for all the suggestions! Staceyshoe
Another vote for Jesus Storybook Bible and CDs! Love it! Last year, I started a huge binder for ds. We read a Bible story, retell it on our own words together, and do a craft about it. All the crafts go in the binder. Every few weeks, ds pulls out the binder and re-tells me stories as he looks at his crafts. He's proud of his work, and loves to look through it. Additionally, it re-inforces his memory of the Bible stories.
