AmyontheFarm
http://christiannews.net/phoenix-pastor-sentenced-for-holding-home-worship-meetings-now-in-jail/ What am I missing? How on earth does this equate to landing in jail? I live in Canada so I know laws are a bit different, but we even have churchs and businesses who don't have handi-cap parking. How can they hold a private home to that level?

Julie Smith
I'm not ready to start school yet. :) So I read the article. I don't get it either. I am now also wondering, "What am I missing?"
Parrothead
Wow! Someone has a _______ that poor guy. Salman has also been fined $12,180, and is facing 3 years probation, which prosecutors are seeking to convert to a 2 1/2-year jail sentence. Seriously? This is what prosecutors in Phoenix spend their time doing? :glare:

ErinE
He requested and received tax exempt status designating his private residence as a church. When he was told he needed to bring it up to building code (part of being a church), he did not comply. He's in trouble for breaking the law, not for holding a Bible study.
