Hi all,

I recently decided that I would do some "civics" classes with ds, starting this school year (6th grade). I started browsing online, and found this series:

How Government Works

(That's one in the series.) They seem to be appropriate for middle school. Each book is only about 60 pages, covering a fairly narrow topic. I figured we can check one out (our library has them! yippee!) once a month, and read it together.

Just thought I'd share. Any other tips?

These look great, Wendi. Thanks for sharing. Please let us know how you like them. I may borrow (or even buy) the Declaration of Independence book...it looks perfect for our upcoming vacation as well as our study of American History this school year! :patriot:

Pam,

It looks like Rainbow Resource has at least some of the series available in paperback. Check there if you want to save some $$, and don't mind paperback.
