Kathryn
I'm definitely not musical myself, but DS must be the most musically challenged person ever. He has no concept of tone, he can't hear a rhythm, or even replicate an extremely simple clapping rhythm. How much music theory/instruction would you attempt with a child like this as opposed to just enjoying good music?
marbel
I've given up with my son. He actually took piano for a while, in a recommendation from physical therapy, but it was pure torture for him. We did buy him a guitar to mess around with, because he is attracted to that, but he doesn't use it much. We are focusing on enjoyment of music, music history, etc, with him. He does enjoy music, just not making it! ;)
