Kate in Arabia
We will be heading home from the US next week via Spain and have a 12+ hr layover in Madrid. We have some ideas of things we'd like to see, almost all of them outside Madrid, lol. Is the transit system pretty reliable? On time? I've been reading of increasing economic tensions recently, should we be worried about that? Tia for any thoughts..
Annie
I don't have any first hand experience, but my husband wandered around Madrid during a 10 hour layover about two years ago. He said there were lockers in the airport where he left his carryon. He had no problem navigating the train system even though he doesn't speak Spanish. That's about all the info I've got, but at least it will give you a bump! :) Have fun!
Kate in Arabia
Thanks, Annie. I think both dh and I want to go outside Madrid, I'm a bit nervous about getting the trains sorted out so we don't miss our next flight, lol.
