klmama
I'd like to find a girl's top that is cut thin on the sides and is cute, stylish, and keeps the midriff and chest covered. It seems I can find longer ones, but they are low cut at the top. I can find higher cut tops, but they are short and show the midriff. This is size 14 girl, 0 or XS misses, or 1 juniors. Thanks for any ideas! Edited July 11, 2012 by klmama
justasque
Aeropostale is the go-to for that size.
tadah
The smallest Loft sizes can work too -- XS Petite or something like that. But they are usually not cut thin on the sides. The current style there seems to be looser.
JoLuRu
How about layering? Put the long enough, deeper cut shirt over the higher neckline? I wear shirts like that all the time. I like Lands End for shirts that don't show too much skin.
Mom22ns
Aeropostale is the go-to for that size. :iagree: They have lots of low cut stuff, but they have plenty that aren't low and they are almost all long.
klmama
Thanks, everyone! Aeropostale has some good online prices right now, too. :001_smile:
Chris in VA
Kohl's Mudd line is also cut like this.

Thanks for any ideas! Long, tall, rather well-endowed skinny daughter here. American Eagle works well. Some Hollister and some Aeropostale, though others are too short. You really have to hold them up and gauge them. I also get a lot of shirts and Marshall's that work well.
justasque
Much of the Aero stuff is designed to be worn over one of their camis. The camis are fairly well made and hold up. They're cut thin width-wise, have a reasonably high neckline, are long, and have a built-in shelf bra. With one of these basics, you can throw more or less any top over it and be stylish, age-appropriate, and modest. Aero also has polo shirts that are made for that body type - thin and long. I find some of the misses sizes to be too full in the bust for a typical teen; the juniors department (or junior-aimed store like Aero) is your friend. Yes, you sometimes have to sort through a lot of junk, and a lot of things with the store's name all over them, to find the gems.
Forget-Me-Not
Try Downeast Basics too :)
