Trresh
I use a prescription nose spray and take a Claritin daily. I hate the idea of 'drugging' my body every. single. day. I'm hoping you all will have some good suggestions on treating allergies naturally. I googled it but I'd prefer to take advice from people that have firsthand knowledge. Thanks! The main thing that has pretty much eliminated my allergy problems is acupuncture once a month. I used to be on decongestants daily and since I started with the acupuncture (I think it's been 8 years now), I haven't taken any allergy meds. For my kids, I have them up their Vitamin C intake and herbs like eyebright. I do have some homeopathic allergy remedies that dd likes to take, and she thinks they are helpful (one brand is Allercetin).
celticmom
If your allergies are to pollen, local honey can be helpful. Just make sure you eat some every day.
KrissiK
Saline rinse helps a lot.
LarlaB
I just started taking REDD Remedies Sinus support 2 months ago, and have stopped my Allegra & daily decongestant. Really, its that good. I never got 100% relief w/ the OTC drugs, so this is amazing to feel the same w/ more natural products- it kind of works as antihistamine & decongestant and is singlehandedly the most amazing 'natural' allergy product I've taken so far. There are multiple formulas that are fairly similar in content, just look for quercitin, stinging nettle, vit c, bromelain, NAC http://www.vitacost.com/redd-remedies-adult-sinus-support (they also have a kids chewable version which I give my kiddos) Also a nasal rinse is equally important, IMHO, but people are generally more resistant to trying that... But its so very worth it- really. Talk about a natural, no strings attached approached!! Sure, it takes some getting used to, but when used regularly is very effective for cleaning the airborn allergens out of your sinus passages and helps deal w/ chronic congestion. Good luck! acurtis75
After 15 years+ on sinus meds I was able to stop them early this year. I went on a 14 day juice fast and continued daily juicing after the fast and switched to a more whole foods based diet. The allergies aren't gone. I still get congested occasionally but not to the point that I have to take medicine anymore. After I did the fast and was off meds for a month I went on vacation for two weeks without the juicer and then took two weeks after I got back to get back in my routine. After 3 weeks of no juicing I had to take meds again so I did another juice fast and got back in my routine. I have now been medicine free since March in one of the worst allergy seasons in years where I live in Texas.
besroma
We use Al-R-G from Trilight Herbs. Works great for us! We also take a teaspoon of local honey each day.
