kfeusse
I made a cured ham last night at about 6:30 for supper. After supper I put the leftovers on the countertop to cool a little before putting it in the fridge....but I forgot it until about 9:30 last night....would it still be ok to eat? *********
Well, *I* would be ok with it, but the 'official' guidline is to throw away any food left out for more than 2 hours.
Julie in CA
I'd eat it without hesitation. I'd serve it to my family without hesitation. Cooked meat (and especially cured ham) just isn't as much of an issue in my mind. If it had been out until 9:30 *A.M.* then I'd have wondered whether it was ok or not. ;)
MiniBlondes
I'd eat it and I'm cibophobic and neurotic about food safety. :)
Parrothead
Eat it and enjoy.
SpecialClassical
Absolutely. A cured ham will not go bad very fast. I figure that the food safety guidelines say 2 hours because that is the longest a quickly perishable food can be left out. If they have different times for each food, people will disregard the info or get confused.
